No chance of another lockdown, follow safety measures: CM

There is no possibility of imposing fresh lockdown in Goa and there is no such need, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said on Sunday. He said following safety norms like wearing masks and maintaining social distancing can overcome covid-19 crises.



There was panic among the Goans that Goa might go into another lockdown fearing a second wave that could hit State like Delhi.


Also, on Saturday the government imposed sec 144 in South Goa citing to slow the spread of coronavirus.


This led more doubts in the minds of people in regards to fresh lockdown.


However, the Chief Minister rejected the possibility of another lockdown and said safety precautions are enough.


However, many tourists visiting the states are seen roaming without masks and crowding at various places and authorities are reluctant in enforcing these safety norms.


Many casino staff and a top hotel staff too have tested positive.


However, sources indicate that the government is not pushing management's into testing staff.
