Industrialists unhappy over closure of industries at Verna, Cuncolim

11 Jul 2020 05:00 PM

Industrialists are upset that the authorities have shut down industries at Verna and Cuncolim Industrial Estates without informing the respective associations.

One of the factories produces kits for Covid-19 and its closure can create shortage of kits, they say.

President of Goa Small Industries Association Damodar Kochkar said the management of Tulip Diagnostics should have informed the association about the positive cases detected in their factory.

GSIA also said the government should have taken the association into confidence before shutting down all the units of Tulip Diagnostics factory.

Two factories at Cuncolim Industrial Estate have been closed as coronavirus cases have also been detected at the industrial estate.

Locals complain that labours are not being tested properly.
