Coronavirus cases in India surge to 7.42 lakh

The coronavirus cases in India surged to 7.42 lakh with a one-day spike of 22,752 cases. India has reported more than 20,000 daily cases for six straight day in a row. Death toll has crossed 20,000 mark and recovery rate jumps to 61%.



A single day jump of 22,752 COVID-19 cases were reported in India.


In the last 24 hours around 482 deaths were reported and 16,883 patients have recovered.


India has reported 7,42,417 COVID-19 positive cases till date. The active cases have crossed the 2.64 lakh mark.


20,642 deaths are reported and more than 4.56 lakh patients have recovered. 


Maharashtra is leading with 2.17 lakh mark of COVID-19 cases followed by Tamil Nadu 1.18 lakh, Delhi 1.02 lakhs, Gujarat 37,550 and Uttar Pradesh 29,968.


More than 1 lakh COVID-19 cases were reported worldwide in single day.


The COVID-19 cases have crossed 1.19 crore mark, 5.46 lakh deaths are reported and more than 69 lakhs have recovered.

Here are the five worst-hit coronavirus nation. The United States is leading with more than 29.23 lakh cases followed by Brazil 16.23 lakh cases, India is 3rd worst hit nation with 7.42 Lakh cases, Russia 6.94 lakh cases and Peru with 3.05 lakh cases.
