Admin finally announces SOPs, but no clarity, details

The authorities have promised to start enforcing covid protocols after cases have begun to spiral and infection percentages become among the top in the country.



 The district administration on Friday said that they will cracking down on gatherings.


And wanted all establishments including hotels, casinos and malls to strictly follow protocols.


If not they will have their licenses will be canceled, Tiswadi deputy collector Gurudas Desai warned, even as he ruled out another lockdown. 


The cases in the state are spiralling. However, parties along the beach belt are still on and during Holi everything was open.


The casinos too are operating at full capacity and there are large queues to enter.


No social distancing or wearing of masks has been observed anywhere among tourists and even many locals.


The Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a virtual meeting with Chief Secretaries of states. There he direct them to strictly implement covid appropriate behavior.


Now deputy collector said police will crackdown on establishment who do not do crowd management and follow social distancing norms.


He also directed establishment to compulsory test their staff coming from other states.


He claimed that extensive contract tracing have been undertaken in view of rising covid-19 cases in Goa. But blamed the people for not coming forward for testing.
