India is reaching for the stars, and today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the names of the astronauts chosen for the historic Gaganyaan Mission. Following only the US, Russia and China India would be the 4th Country to send a manned vehicle into space. Here’s more on this.

In a significant step towards India's maiden human space flight, Prime Minister Narendra Modi disclosed the identities of the four astronauts selected for the Gaganyaan Mission. The astronauts, undergoing rigorous training, include Prashanth Nair, Angad Prathap, Ajit Krishnan, and Shubhanshu Shukla.

This ambitious Gaganyaan Mission marks India's foray into human space exploration. At various ISRO centers across the country, extensive preparations are in full swing for the Gaganyaan project. The mission aims to demonstrate India's human spaceflight capabilities, launching crew members into a 400 km orbit for a three-day mission, and safely returning them to Earth by landing in the Indian sea waters."

Last year, we witnessed the successful soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon's South Pole and the launch of Aditya-L1, our first solar mission. With the Gaganyaan Mission scheduled for 2024-2025, plans are already in motion for 'BharatiyaAntariksha Station' by 2035 and the dream of sending the first Indian to the Moon by 2040.
