Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal faces another setback as the Supreme Court denies immediate relief in his plea challenging his arrest last month on money laundering charges.

The Supreme Court's decision means Kejriwal will likely remain in jail until April 29, awaiting the Enforcement Directorate's response to his plea. During today's hearing, his counsel Abhishek Manu Singhvi expressed urgency, citing 'facts to shock the conscience of the court,' but the court refused an expedited hearing.

This setback follows the Delhi High Court's rejection of Kejriwal's appeal last week. The High Court upheld the ED's claim of his involvement in the alleged liquor policy scam. Kejriwal, however, maintains his arrest is politically motivated and an assault on democracy. Meanwhile, a Delhi court extended his judicial custody till April 23 in a related hearing.
