The AAP leader, who has consistently dismissed the allegations against him as a political conspiracy, is also contesting his detention by the ED. Following his arrest, Kejriwal was remanded to judicial custody until April 15th and is currently detained in Delhi's Tihar jail.

During the April 3rd hearing at the High Court, Kejriwal raised concerns about the "timing" of his apprehension. He argued that his arrest disrupts the level playing field in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, violating the fundamental principles of the Constitution.

On the other side, the Enforcement Directorate, branding Kejriwal as the "kingpin" of the alleged scam, vehemently opposed his plea, asserting that no one, not even a chief minister, is above the law. They argued that the arrest of an individual, regardless of their position, should not be contingent on the electoral calendar. Despite Kejriwal's claims of innocence, the agency maintains that they have uncovered a money trail implicating him in the alleged misconduct.
