We want to cremate our family member in the village we were born, Poira-Mayem villager Govind Varad has demanded from the government.

The issue of cremating a loved one faced by Chikodi-Vadar family has not yet solved.

When a death take place in the community why do they they have to run helter-skelter with a dead body. Is the fear of the virus so much?

Earlier, A man name Chikodi had died in Poira. However, the local objected to cremate him in the crematorium built by Mineral Foundation of Goa.

Later, the man was cremated in municipal crematorium in Bicholim.

Now, another Chikodi member Chandrakant Chikdi has died and he has tested negative for covid-19.

However, panchayat sealed the road leading towards their village claiming the man died due to corona.

The Chikodi family has kept his body in GMC and threatened not to accept his body until the administration gives written permission to cremate the body.

Goa 365 tried to find out the truth.

The Mamletdar refused to speak. Later, Mayem Sarpanch Tulishidas Chodankar and Panch Vijay Pole spoke.
