No choirs, touching idols in Centre's SOP for reopening religious places

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare guidelines issued ahead of the re-opening of religious places for worship from 8th of June mandate that choirs not allowed, devotees should not touch idols, or books and shoes taken off before entering a place of worship.

The Centre wants to open places of worship as part of relaxations in Lockdown 5.0. It has  

issued SOPs on preventive measures to contain the spread of Covid-19.  

O No shoes before entering  places of worship

O No touching statues, holy books

O No choirs 

O No common prayer mats 

O No Prasad, Holy Water Sprinkling 

O Sanitisers, dispensers, thermal guns must

O Only asymptomatic persons 

O Masks compulsory
