05 Jul 2020 05:22 PM

Presently the fleet of GVK EMRI is handling both COVID & routine cases. There were complaints that there was a shortage of ambulances.

Now, on Sunday the health minister Vishwajit Rane tweeted that  the Government would reactivate the file of seven additional ambulances and the Health Secretary Nila Mohannan to take it up with the chief Minister Pramod Sawant for approval to add them to the existing fleet. These would be dedicated to COVID patients.

Corona cases are on the rise in the state. Besides that there are the normal cases that were regularly handled by the 108 ambulances. Given these circumstances, the infrastructure often falls short.
