Drama at Airport, Int'l passenger land Goa, refused to pay for Quarantine facility

High voltage midnight drama was witnessed at Dabolim airport during the intervening night of Tuesday, when few of the passengers who arrived on repatriation flight vande Bharat from Dubai to the Goa refused to pay for their quarantine facility. As per MHA, all the international travelers have to pay for their quarantine of seven days in designated hotels, after which they are sent for home quarantine. It was only after four hour long arguments that finally passengers agreed to move to paid quarantine in Panjim and Colva.



The flight carrying 155 passengers, out of which 14 were of Karnataka, 26 of Maharashtra and 115 all Goans, arrived at Dabolim Airport around 12.30 mid night on June 01-02, after which some of the passengers refused to pay for the quarantine facility as they were standing in a queue to give their samples. The passenger raised concerns over the charging of hotels, there were some people with medical requirements like dialysis ,pregnant and also with small kids who refused to go for quarantine at hotel which raised chaotic situation. Chaotic situation prevailed at the airport after which police and paramilitary force manning the facility had to intervene. It was only after four hour long arguments that finally passengers agreed to move to paid quarantine in Panjim and Colva.
