Churchill wants fishing trucks from outside stopped, ban extended

Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao on Wednesday said that the the extension of the fishing ban by another 15 days would benefit local and traditional fishermen. He also wanted the entry of vehicles carrying fish into the state stopped in the light of the Mangor Hill Covid 19 positive cases.



The centre and the state had reduced the fishing ban period from 61 to 47 days.


Also there was controversy over the entry of trucks from outside the state with fish.


Reportedly one of the Covid 19 positive persons at Mongoor Hill, Vasco was involved in the fish trade.


Alemao wanted the CM to delay the opening of school, hotels and restaurants. He also spoke on the laying off of staff by various organisation.
