Local lockdowns continue to be followed state wide

Almost all panchayats and municipalities are following localised lockdowns to flatten the curve in their areas. However, the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant Pramod Sawant is focusing on strict restrictions to curb prevailing covid situation in State. This decision has made him face the backlash from the opposition and the ruling MLAs too.

 The covid-19 situation in Goa has turned extremely severe. State positivity rate has touched 50%. The Chief Minister has tightened restrictions in the state including closure of all casinos, restaurants and bars. And allowed only essentials to remain open from 7 am to 7 pm.

However, local bodies feel these restrictions are not enough and opted to undergo self lockdown. Following footsteps of other panchayats Kavlem and Bandora panchayats have decided to undergo self lockdown.

 MGP MLA Ramkrishan Sudin Dhavlikar has praised local bodies for initiating localised lockdown and slammed government for not taking any decision on a complete lockdown.
