Mopa airport issues upstage Dhargal Ayush Hospital foundation laying ceremony

Tourism Minister and Pernem MLA Babu Azgaokar on Tuesday reiterated his earlier stand that Pernem local should get first preference during employment at Mopa Airport.



Ayush Minister Shripad Naik was also attacked on the issue of the demolition of two houses at Mopa as part of airport construction.


Both were present at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the All India Institute of Ayurveda Yoga and Naturopathy Goa was laid at Dhargal.


North Goa Collector had demolished two houses at the site of the proposed Mopa airport. On the other hand affected landowners were promised three-times hike. They allege that the government is yet to act on this assurance.


Also recently, fruit-bearing trees were felled at the airport site without taking villagers into confidence.


The affected landowners met Naik during foundation laying ceremony of Ayush Hospital at Dhargal and requested his intervention.

Meanwhile, the foundation stone for All India Institute of Ayurveda Yoga and Naturopathy Goa was laid at Dhargal.


Governor Mridula Sinha, Union Minister for Ayush Shripad Naik, Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane, Tourism Minister Babu Azgaonkar, GTDC chairman Dayanand Sopte, and others were present.


Naik said this 100 bedded hospital will consist of OPD, postgraduate Ayurvedic college and research center.
