Rs 2,23,846 crore budgetary expense for health sector in this years budget

This years budget stressed on the health sector, no surprise given the covid pandemic situation. Union budget has proposed 2,23,846 crore in budgetary expenditure for health sector with nation emerging from covid-19 pandemic.



 In health sector a budgetary provision of 35,000 crore rupees have been allocated for vaccine for the year 2021-22.


Sitharaman said a new centrally sponsored scheme, PM AtmaNirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana, will be launched with an outlay of about 64,180 crores over 6 years.


Finance Minister also announced a voluntary vehicle scrapping policy, to phase out old and unfit vehicles.


The opposition raised protest when the finance minister spoke about the points related to farmers.


Union budget proposed to exempt senior citizens who only have pension and interest income from filing of income tax returns.


The housing for all scheme has extended till 31st March and additional deduction of 1.5 lakhs in loans has been provided, a scheme of Mega Investment Textiles Parks (MITRA), monetizing operating public infrastructure assets.


Finance Minister in her budget speech also said Ujjwala Scheme which has benefited 8 crores households will be extended to cover 1 crores more beneficiaries.


More than 15,000 schools will be qualitatively strengthened to include all components of the National Education Policy.
