Not in full swing, but technical problems have been solved. They are expecting to start getting sugarcane from neighboring villages of Karnataka by next week.

Though it was announced that factory would start crushing cane from Saturday, the turbine broke down on Friday night, raising doubts that the already delayed season may be delayed further.

As a result, the sugarcane dumped by the farmers dried up. This has perhaps resulted in machines getting jammed.

But the technical issue of turbine was resolved and factory started after mixing fresh cane with the dried cane.

According to the agricultural officer, there is enough cane in the factory right now and more cane would start coming from within Goa as well as from Karnataka.

As Anmod Ghat is closed for traffic, they plan to import Karnataka sugarcane via Chorla ghat.
