Statehood day celebrated sans ministers

On 30th May 1987 Goa got full statehood and so its own identity. Today Goa is celebrating its 32nd Statehood day. But it looks like that Goan politicians are not bothered.





On Thursday all the ministers along with Chief Minister flew to Delhi to attend swearing in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Only one MLA was present.


On 30th May 1987, Goa got its status as the 25th State of Republic of India. This enabled Goa to keep its identity as a Konkani speaking region.


Goa Solid Waste Management Corporation and Directorate of Panchayat organised a special program on the occasion. Sopte spoke on the occasion.


The winners of competitions organised in various field were given awards on 30th May at Kala Academy. Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude was absent.


Officials of Kala Academy distributed the awards.
