The Cabinet on Wednesday decided to transfer a little over one lakh sq mts of land at Mopa to the upcoming Greenfield airport.

It also decided to transfer land in Porvorim from the PWD to the Irrigation department to store raw water and help mitigate Porvorim water woes. This would increase the water available to Porvorim by 20 MLD.

The chief Minster said that the decision was that a chunk of Mopa land was transferred to the state civil aviation department which in turn will transfer it to the concessionaire.

The chief minister also said that a decision on government servants and the Deen Dayal scheme was taken.

Parrikar said that the cabinet decision to transfer the land in Porvorim to the Irrigation department would ensure that water was supplied to Porvorim and whatever was extra would take care of the needs of the surrounding areas.

Porvorim is facing a major water shortage which gets aggravated during the summer season.

The chief minister also said that he was not willing to comment on the Terracol Golf course tenancy decision issue given that it was sub judice when asked for his reaction to the issue.
