Govt framing policy to maintain street lights & high masts

Power minister Pandurang Madkaikar has said the maintainance of these lights would be done by the electricity department once this policy comes into force.

The issue came up at a meeting the minister had with Kutthali MLA Alina Saldanha and the panchayat members.

They complained  that the street lights on the National Highway 17 B from Verna to the air port passing through Kutthalii constituency are not maintained.

Similar is the fate of the high masts at several beaches.
