Finally IIT in Goa? Collector holds 1st meeting over Sanguem location

The proposed IIT, Goa could finally find a place to roost in the state. The government has identified more than 9 lakh sq mts in Sanguem taluka, Kotralim in particular.



The Collector Anjali Sherawat said that there were no legal hurdles to start the acquisition proceeding, but they would go for further meetings to get everybody on board.

She spoke to reporters after a meeting held on Monday with tenants and owners to see what are the problems and the mind of the tenants and owners.

 the government has made a tentative survey of the area and the stakeholders were called for a meeting. According to authorities and the local MLA Prasad Gaonkar only one tenant has an issue with the IIT.

He said that the issue will be finalised only after a consensus had been taken, he said
