Mumbai-Goa bus caught fire, passengers survive

Regina Queen, a Mumbai-Goa bus carrying passengers till Madgao, suddenly caught fire today early morning.



No passenger was injured as they managed to get out before the fire spread.

However, some luggage of passengers got burnt in the horrific accident.

The bus caught fire as right hand side rear tyre got burst.

The incident occurred at around 5.20 today morning.

The incident occurred at Shenavade village, little before Gaganbawada, on the Kunkeshward-Talewadi road, around 180 kms from Panaji.

It was a luxury bus with seats, no sleeping berths.

The drivers of the bus immediately alerted the concerned authorities and a fire brigade was summoned.

But by that time, most of the bus was burnt.

However, some passengers managed to salvage their luggage.

The passengers were then accommodated in other buses coming from Mumbai.
