Save lives of people by controlling stray cattle and dogs. Also punish those who leave their cattles on streets, irate Ponda locals demanded from the government.

They were even more upset after two youth were grievously injured after hitting a stray cattle at Kavlem.

The issue of stray cattle on the roads came up in the last assembly session.

The chief minister had promised to solve the issue. Now, two years have passed but nothing has ben done.

Cattle are still seen roaming on roads day and night not just in Ponda, but all over the state. There is cattle pond in Ponda. But nobody is using it.

30-year-old Sahil Talaulikar from Talualim and 31-year-old Abhishek Gaude from Borim met with an mishap mid-night on Sunday.

The two did see the cattle siting in the middle of the road in the dark and their bike hit the animal at Ponwado in Kavlem.

The animal died on the spot and two were seriously injured and were shifted to hospital. However, the question still remains unanswered. When this issue will ever get solved?
