According to reports, the fatal accident occurred around 1:15 am when the vehicle, en route from Srinagar to Jammu, met with the tragic fate. Swift action followed the distress call, as a collaborative effort involving the local police, State Disaster Response Force, and civil Quick Response Team of Ramban rushed to the scene for rescue operations.

Despite the challenging weather conditions marked by heavy rains, the rescue teams worked tirelessly to recover the bodies of all the deceased individuals. Among the victims were the cab's driver, Balwan Singh, aged 47, hailing from Jammu, and Vipin Mukhiyafrom West Champaran in Bihar.
