Goa has welcomed the first-ever Charter flight from Uzbekistan. Carrying 64 passengers, the Centrum Air-operated flight landed at the Manohar International Airport in Mopa. This marks a step toward strengthening the diplomatic and cultural ties between the two nations.

A Goa tourism delegation recently participated in the Tashkent International Tourism Fair that was held in Uzbekistan and charter operators had said they were interested in operating flights to Goa.

The Goa delegation has also promoted Goa as a medical tourism destination, catering to central Asian countries at the Fair. With there being a high demand for quality medical treatment among Uzbek citizens, Goa is open to position itself as a medical tourism hub for central European countries.

Deepak Narvenkar – Goa Tourism’s Public Relations Officer also provided more details on the facilities currently available in Goa to host tourists.
