Were Sulabh toilets at Colva beach built to be kept shut?

The Prime Minister and the Government is promoting swacha Bharat. A trust has been put on providing and building toilets at public places as well as in peoples homes. However, shockingly, locals and tourist visiting Colva beach are forced to defecate in the open as the sulabh toilets at the beach are shut. Colva beach is host to thousands of tourists and locals alike.

Locals say that nearly 20 days have past since the sulabh toilets built at the Colva beach are locked. Locals told Goa 365 that in spite of bring this issue to the notice of the Tourism department and other locals bodies, nothing has been done till date.
