Reis-Magos road gives way, people inconvenienced

The Portuguese era road at Reis-Magos finally gave way. Major portion of the main road caved in and a retaining wall collapsed due to lack of attention by government. Motorists are now forced to take 5 kms of long detour to reach their destination.

A huge hole has developed on the middle of the road blocking the entire traffic.

While, few meters away retaining wall of the road has also collapsed.

Saligao MLA Jayesh Salgaonkar told Goa 365 the Reis-Magos road had already faced damage during the Kyarr cyclone and subsequently got weakened.

He had written to PWD to repair this road after the cyclone. But nobody paid heed to his request.

Saligao MLA Jayesh Salgaonkar also accused his arch rival and neighboring MLA Michael Lobo of blocking developmental works in his constituency.
