Modi’s new CRZ notification suicidal for Goa: Alina

Alina Sadlanha is the first MLA of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, who has opposed new CRZ notification which is approved by her own party government led by Narendra Modi.

If it’s applied in Goa, it would be suicidal, she feels.

The new CRZ notification approved by Modi’s cabinet last week has reduced no development zone from 200 metres to 50 metres from high tide line, but with population density of 2161 per square kilometer.

Also it has defrozen the FAR for urban areas falling under CRZ. But Kuthali MLA Alina doesn’t agree with this.

Besides this notification affecting the local fishermen, she feels her government needs to rethink in view of water rising at Goan seashores.
