Javadekar issues letter on Mhadei, Opp condemns it

Union environment minister Prakash Javadekar has finally reacted. He has written to Goa CM that a committee will be set up to study if Kalsa-Banduri project is also for irrigation purpose. CM Pramod Sawant has welcomed it. But opposition parties and organisationsk have condemned it.



The protestors want to meet Javadekar. If not, they have threatened consequences.


The Union Environment Minister Prakash Javdekar is supposed to be in Goa on Wednesday for IFFI.


On Tuesday, he wrote a letter that he had constituted a committee to look into the issues raised by the all party delegation that met him some 12 days back.


Opposition Leader Digambar Kamamt has lashed out a the government saying that this was a total let down of the state.


Condemning this action of the Union Minister, he said that Prakash Javdekar was not welcome in the state.


NGO Progressive Front of Goan, had held a massive rally on 1 November on the issue.


On Tuesday they called a drama and an eyewash. They have demanded to meet the union minister.


And if not they would take some steps to register their displeasure. On Monday the Mhadhei Bachao Andolan had given a 7 day deadline for the government to sort out the issue.
