Police want CCTVs, private security for chovoth

The Goa police are prepared to tackle terrorist threats during the upcoming chovoth festival. The police have requested the sarvajinik pandals to put up CCTV as well as private security to help control crowds during the festival. DIG Parmaditya also said that increased police patrolling has been ordered given that lot of residences are going to be left closed.



The DIG said that they held a meeting on Wednesday will all the district police as well as various departments of the force on the issue. He said that instructions had been issued to round up anti social elements, take into consideration in case lights go out during festivities and illuminating dark areas around the pandals. 

 

Traffic arrangements and police ptrsaolling because of empty houses were were also part of the discussions.
