Pay parking in capital to be delayed a little longer

Looks as if Panjimites will have to suffer major traffic congestion for some more time. The Collector has notified the places of first phase as pay parking for four wheelers in Panaji. The notification will be applicable from 9 in the morning to 9 in the night on all days except on Sundays. However, the CCP is not happy. It has returned the notification back on the per hourly rate issue.

The CCP had revised pay parking rates. However, the collector has notified the earlier rates. Mayor Uday Madkaikar said that they had sent the notification back and would start pay parking once it was re notified. The CCP had decided to enforce pay parking on 18th June road, all along Gracia de Orta Garden on all four sides, AB road from Corporation Bank at Church Square to opposite Rayu Chambers, From Down the road Pub to behind Old Secretariat and Jack Sequeria road from Miramar Circle up to the first gate of Sharada Mandir school on both sides of the road.
