Govt will ensure NRI civil marriage registrations within 15 days: CM

The Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant on Tuesday assured the house that he would ensure that NRI's who come to Goa to marry on short leave can get themselves civilly registered within 15 days. As of now two signatures are needed that need a gap of 2 consecutive sundays unless they went through the courts.

The issue regarding delay in registration of marriages in Goa especially for NRI's was raised by Santa Cruz MLA Tony Fernandes. Tony brought to the notice of the house that couple come to Goa to marry. But as they have a few days leave their marriage registration is held back.
