Congress has slammed Health Minister Viswhajeet Rane for privatizing public services like health and medical education in GMC as well as South District Hospital. It has demanded a white paper on Government policy on privatizing public services. Has also accused Vishwajeet of striking a financial deal at the cost of poor people of Goa.

: Vishwajeet has announced a new private medical college in South Goa District hospital building while also privatizing superspeciality block at GMC, which are built with public money. GPCC President Girish Chodankar says it is not a PPP model but a new business model devised by Vishwajeet, calling it VPPP - Vishwajeet Public Private Partnership.

Girish has also said Vishwajeet is simply reversing the whole process of public welfare policies set up by his father Pratapsing Rane. Former CM Rane used public funds for the needy people like Kadamba transport, higher secondary schools and colleges at taluka level, EBC scholarships for poor students as well as Mediclaim scheme.
