Nayab Singh Saini has taken over the reins as the new Chief Minister of the state. This comes after the resignation of the former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and his entire cabinet earlier today. Here’s more.

In a surprising turn of events, Nayab Singh Saini, a prominent leader within the Other Backward Classes community, is poised to become the new Chief Minister of Haryana. The decision was announced after a meeting of the BJP's legislative party, attended by key figures such as Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda and National General Secretary TarunChugh.

At 54 years old, Nayab Saini is the current Lok Sabha MP from Kurukshetra and has been leading the state BJP since October last year. Known for his influence within the OBC community, Saini is considered a close confidante of the outgoing Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar

Following the resignation of Khattar and the entire cabinet, Nayab Saini met with Governor BandaruDattatreya to formally stake his claim to form the new government. The swearing-in ceremony took place at 5 pm today. Sources suggest that this change in leadership is aimed at revitalizing the party ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in April/May and later this year, respectively.
