No matter how big the controversy is, but it looks like no resolution on any statue will come up in the Assembly session beginning next week.

Sources in the Legislature Secretariat told Goa365 that Speaker Pramod Sawant has directed the concerned staff not to take up any resolution while deciding resolution dates through lots.

It started with a private member’s resolutions on installing Dr. Jack Sequeira’s statue in the Assembly complex.

By BJP MLA Michael Lobo and also the opposition Congress. Goa Forward is canvassing for it.

In addition, the MGP has moved a resolution to install statues of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia and Dr. T B Cunha.

And another BJP MLA Rajesh Patnekar has moved a resolution to install Chatrapati Shivaji’s statue.
