Congress has demanded an apology from Union Minister Shripad Naik for insulting the mining dependents recently in Pedne.

Congress also questioned Deputy Speaker Michael Lobo for saying that he is ready to sit in the opposition.

The party said he was in the forefront to form the coalition government.

At a meeting in Pedne, Ayush minister Shripad Naik had reportedly questioned people whether he owed them anything.

Congress said instead of apologizing to the mining dependants for not helping revive mining activity, Shripad posed a counter question.

Congress also criticised Calangute MLA Michael Lobo for stating recently that the BJP is ready to sit in the opposition.

Congress spokesperson Urfan Mulla said Michael was in the forefront to form the government even though the mandate was against the BJP.
