Reginald meets Fadnavis, sets tongues wagging again

Confusion in Goan politics seems to be getting worse. In addition to the jumping from one party to another, now Congress heavyweight MLA Reginald Lourenco meeting BJP Goa election in-charge Devendra Fadnavis on Monday at midnight created a stir despite the Congress heavyweight calling it a coincidence.

Political circles were abuzz after the alleged midnight meeting of Cong working president Reginaldo Lourenco and Goa BJP election in-charge Devendra Fadnavis.

However, when Reginald was questioned about this he admitted meeting Fadnavis but called it mere coincidence. It may be recalled that outspoken Congress MLA had earlier expressed his anger with the Congress especially its state unit president Girish Chodankar. However, a phone call from Rahul Gandhi apparently poured oil over troubles waters, though it looks like temporarily. 

  Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant confirmed that assembly elections are likely to be held in the month of February and code of conduct likely to come in force after new year, while speaking at a BJP function in North Goa.
