Not only Dr Willy, all CMs changed RPs legally, not illegally: Tulio

Architect Tulio D'Souza is Congress spokesman today. But a son-in-law of former chief miniser Dr Wilfred de Souza.

He has dismissed TCP Minister Vijai Sardesai's allegation that Dr Willy had made land conversions  as the Chairman of TCP Board in 67th and 68th Board meetings, giving an impression that it was illegal.

According to Tulio, the land conversions were made by not only  Dr Willy but all the chief ministers after amending the town and country planning act in 1988.

Amendment to section 17 allowed to change Regional Plan any number of times. Earlier it could be changed only once in five years.

So what Dr Willy did was not illegal. Incidentally, Vijai had entered politics with Dr Willy as his mentor.
