01 Aug 2020 06:22 PM

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is caught in tight spot.

Chief Minister had accused Congress of playing politics with the new building for Raj Bhavan.

But Goa Governor Satyapal Malik has said that the Chief Minister should not spend money on Raj Bhavan as the State is facing a financial crises due to corona virus pandemic.

The Chief Minister Pramod Sawant was speaking during the launch program of special vehicle for the awareness of covid-19 North Goa in Sankhali on Saturday.

He slammed the opposition for playing politics in this coronavirus time as well as opposing the new building for a Raj Bhavan.

Few hours after the program got over Goa Governor Satya Pal Malik issued a letter to the Chief Minister saying that the idea to construct a new Raj Bhavan is irrational when State is battling with covid-19 and reeling under a financial crises.

The new Raj Bhavan would create unnecessary financial burden on State and he do not require new Raj Bhavan. Project should be taken up when financial state improves.

The opposition has tweeted in reaction to the Governors letter.
