BJP responsible for mining closure: Congress

Congress has once again alleged that BJP is solely responsible for the closure of mining and now it cannot provide any solution to restart it.



Party spokesperson Yatish Naik said even the word 'illegal mining' was made popular by then leader of opposition Manohar Parrikar, through his Public Accounts Committee report.


He also claimed that Parrikar closed down mining much before the Supreme Court, as the chief minister. GPCC spokesperson Yatish Naik critcised Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as Goa's BJP MPs and ministers for keep repeating the same old promises on mining without finding any a concrete solution to restart mining.


Yatish said former chief minister Manohar Parrikar's government shut down mining in 2012 after coming to power.


While, Supreme Court gave its judgment in 2018. Parrikar has clearly told media that he has closed the mining.
