CM mining companies not to retrench workers

Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has warned mining companies not to retrench their workers if they want cooperation from the government. He said e-auction and mining dump issue will be resolved by October. He also asserted that the government want the Sarvodaya school in Valpoi to be resolved amicably with the land owner.



Sesa Vedanta company has decided to retrench workers as starting mining activity appears to be a remote possibility. The Chief Minister has asked Sesa-Vedanta to pay arrears to the retrenched workers.


Some Sesa workers met the chief minister over the issue. There is a dispute going on between Navoday School in Valpoi a the owner of the land in which the school is situated. The Chief Minister said the government wants the amicable solution to the issue.
