Mining resumption runs into stormy weather\\ENGLISH

The start of mining activity in the state has started to get into controversy in Bicholim after mining workers from around the Vedanta Limited leased mine objected to the company bringing outside workers.

However, the company has denied that it is doing so, arguing that the workers from outside were brought in only for those jobs where the skill set was not available with the local workers. 

 

The workers union gathered at the site and the workers from outside the state were asked to leave. Listen to what the union has to say.

Vedanta Limited was  declared as the Preferred bidder in recently concluded auction of  the Bicholim mining block in Goa. This mine was earlier operated by Sesa Mining Corporation Limited. Vedanta Limited has sent this statement when they were contacted for their reaction.
