Navelim panchayat too opposed draft CZMP during the gram sabha held on Sunday.

Members unanimously passed a resolution to approve the CZMP plan which was prepared by villagers in 2019.

It also resolved that they should insist that the height of western bypass overpass be increased.

CZMP has become a topic of hot debates grams sabhas across the state.

Earlier, almost every other gram sabhas in South had rejected CZMP alleging that churches, water bodies and even houses were not shown.

And because many villages were shown within the MPT port limits.

There was uproar during the CZMP public hearing as many persons were not allowed into the hearings.
