Mormugao municipality issues notices to 32 unsafe buildings

Mormugao Municipality has issued notices to around 32 unsafe building in Vasco town which are in dilapidated state. Some buildings are vacant and some are not. MMC has decided to seal these building if the owner does not demolish it or take necessary action.

MMC has issued a notice to one Shreedhar building in Vasco market which is in a precarious condition.

 

It has shops on the ground floor and a few outlets on the first floor. MMC had received several complaints that this building is not safe.

 

The columns have developed cracks and the plaster quote of ceiling has come out, exposing the iron rods.

 

Authorities fear that the building could come crashing down any moment and people have to be evacuated immediately.
