Urbanisation will lead to concretisation of Calangute: Former Sarpanch Joseph

Urbanisation of Calangute panchayat will take concretisation of the village to the next level, longtime albeit former Calangute Sarpanch Joseph Sequeira charged, taking a pot shot at the present panchayat and the local MLA.

Joseph hit out at the local MLA Michael Lobo and Calangute panchayat for notifying Calangute as an urban area in the official gazette.  He said urbanisation would affect social, culture and tradition of village as it will lead to more migrants shifting to Calangute.  He argued that urbanisation would also hit the tourism industry.

Joseph said that the PDA had already approved big projects in the fields and hills of Calangute. The decision was taken closed doors of secretariat keeping Calangutkars in the dark as the behest of Calangute MLA and panchayat.
