Sankhali’s Maulingtad in danger due to mining

This is the sad reality of Maulingtad area in Sankhli. The mining pits in their backyard are full of rainwater.



This has resulted in major seepage in their walls.

Their livelihood is in danger. After 5-long years due to local’s outrage, the officials finally were forced to visit the spot. 

Due to the continuous seepage from mining, close to 30 houses of Sankhli's Maulingtad are in danger.

Their walls are weakening, the fear of mining dumps could collapse on their houses has grown among locals.

The chances of silt flowing into their agricultural fields have also increased. 

This is the same situation since the last 5 years. Finally, due to locals’ outrage, the authorities finally decided to pay the visit to the spot on Monday. The action, however, is still awaited.
