Mormugao constituency: Name deletion controversy heats up

Issue of deletion of some names from electoral rolls from Mormugao constituency has heated up . Locals have demanded that the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant should take cognizance of it and inquire why the names were being deleted and what kind of politics is behind it. They have also demanded time limit to submit documents be increased.



Joint Mamletdar says notices were issued to some voters in this regards. But local councilors and voter say they didn't got any notices. The councilors alleged that there is  politics behind the deletion of names. 

Meanwhile, Congress has alleged that the names of voters were deleted at the behest of Urban Development Minister Milind Naik and councilors backed by him. They have demanded that Mamledar should take decision only after checking all the documents.
