Mapusa town gutters cleaned after elections announced

Municipal roads in Mapusa town are in bad shape. Now that elections to the municipal councils have been declared, some wards are seeing their gutter cleaned raising questioning eyebrows among locals.

Elections to the 11 civic bodies will be held on 20th of March and the results will be announced two days later. There are complaints from political parties that wards have been reserved to favour the ruling party. People say the councillors have failed to carry out their duties, whether it be road works, gutters or street lights.
