St Jacinto Island residents have threatened to block the entry of outsiders into their Island. Residents complained that youth would engage in public nuisance like drinking, smoking and also racing. Residents complained that the area did not have CCTv cameras despite they asking the panchayat to put some up. They also want police patrolling in the area.

Residents said that the miscreants would play loud music and party late into the night, break beer bottles and also street lights.

Panch Anna Maria Azaredo said that she had put up the lights but they were broken again and again by miscreants. The ward member said that she had conducted several cleanliness drives as well and demanded intensified police patrolling in the area.

Dysp Sunita Sawant said that after the complaints, the police had intensified patrolling and booked cases. After this the racing had stopped. She added that the police will again intensify the patrolling so that there are no more cases of public nuisance.
