Paying a hefty fee as entry cum parking fee in SGPDA wholesale market at Margao and not getting any facility is not acceptable. We will approach the court on this, the All Goa Wholesale Fish Market Association said on Saturday.

They also want regular checking of fish and any fish found laced with chemical should be destroyed.

The SGPDA wholesale fish market in Margao was opened after High Court's direction on Friday.

But there was chaos when it opened. Some trucks even started selling fish on roadside.

The market association chief Maulana Ibrahim got upset and took on the SGPDA. He demanded that the fees be lowered and proper facilities be provided.

Ibrahim said the fish was tested and nothing was found fishy. He also alleged that High Court directions to open the fish market were thrown to the winds.

SGPDA chairman Wilfred D'Sa spoke on the market chaos and fish testing.
