Football ground or religious ground?

This time it is for almost 20 days. Thus locals are deprived from playing football on the football ground. Sports lovers and players from Ponda have strongly objected to PWD giving Bhahusaheb Bandodkar Football ground for organising religious and cultural festival.

While this event would go on for almost 20 days, the organisers have also damaged the ground by digging holes and installing pillars for a pandal.

While the PWD Engineer Manisha Shet pacified the protestors. She said the approval has been given by PWD to Jain Community to celebrate their function on football ground which will be held between 24 to 30 March.

However, considering the objections of football players PWD henceforth
would not take any decision hurriedly to handover football ground for religious programmes.
